Professor of Psychiatry of Older People

Gill Livingston is professor of psychiatry of older people in UCL Division of Psychiatry & consultant old age psychiatrist, Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust.

She led the Lancet International Commission on Dementia Prevention, Intervention and Care, 2017 and works to its strapline.  She is leading an update to the commission.

Her research includes a life-course analysis of risk of dementia and ways of delaying and preventing it. It also aims to elucidate the scale of and mechanisms of symptoms in people with dementia and their family, and test practical scalable interventions; finding what works for people with dementia and their carers.
